Shoebox Appeal 2016 is Complete!

The annual Blythswood Care Shoebox Appeal is complete and we are pleased to share that Gourock Baptist Church put together 68 shoe boxes full of gifts and several sacks of extra donated items for men, women, and children living in desperate poverty. The contents of the boxes were contributed by members and adherents of the church, as well as by participants in the Slimming Club fitness group who meet weekly at Gourock Baptist Church. An additional 28 filled shoe boxes were donated by St. John’s Church of Scotland. Each box comprises basic hygiene items, gloves, hats, scarves, and sweets, as well as toys for children and gift items for adults.

Last year, the boxes were distributed in Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. To help with shipping costs, Gourock Baptist Church donated £205.

We are already collecting shoe boxes for next year, so if you find yourself stocking up on footwear on Boxing Day, please consider donating your boxes to us.
